"Three-Hour Window" Group Art Exhibition at Lucky Cat Gallery
“Three-Hour Window” is a group exhibition featuring over thirty artists from across Southern California at Lucky Cat Gallery, located at 620 Main Street #101, Los Angeles, CA 90014.
The group exhibition will feature painters, photographers, illustrators, sculptors, and mixed-media artists from Joshua Tree, San Diego, Idyllwild, Orange County, and across Los Angeles, with the diverse pieces echoing the sensory experience of entering a SoCal portal.
The exhibit will open Saturday, August 29, with an evening reception from 6 pm – 10 pm, and will include a complimentary collage workshop during the first two hours, allowing attendees to tap into their own creativity and develop a Southern California-inspired postcard, facilitated by exhibiting collage artist Julia Walck.

There is a three-hour window in Southern California that serves as a portal to distant lands. As the hues of the sky begin to morph and the ignition key has woken a rumbling engine, one can find a winding mountain road, coastal cliffs, or desert-blown horizons only a few hours away. Within these hideaways, a diverse array of faces, rumored urban legends, and five-star verified reviews.
Scenic backdrops for our modern server retained memory. Exchanging privacy for sentimentalism, destined to underestimate how many cherished places, conversations, and kind smiles can be saved in our biological database. Memories from revered highways, whose reputation for disruption has earned them an article distinction, are shaped by snacks and playlists that carve sonic signatures into the road

ABOUT THE CURATOR
Rebekka Koontz is an independent curator who grew up surrounded by art, with stained-glass boxes and large canvases hanging in her childhood home and weekend picnics at LACMA. She pursued her love of the arts in her early twenties with an internship at the then-revitalized 01 Gallery, formerly run by John Pochna, in 2007, and then found a home at Thinkspace Projects in 2008, where she was an assistant for seventeen years, interviewing artists and supporting backend operations. In 2009, she began to curate group exhibitions across Orange County and Pomona. “Three-Hour Window” will mark the end of a fifteen-year hiatus from curation and the start of a new chapter in platforming talented artists and unique voices.
